Termites; They're Everywhere

In Florida, it’s Termite Season all year long. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, subterranean termites are busy attacking every piece of wood they can find. Unfortunately, if you have a wood frame home, that means they’re attacking it. In fact, termites in Florida cause more damage than floods, fires and hurricanes combined. Your first line of defense again these voracious insects is what your walls are constructed with. If they’re concrete block, you’ve made a smart move. Termites can’t eat block and they can’t tunnel through it. So, the strength of your home, it walls, is also the first line of defense against termite damage. You may think, living in a wood frame home and having an exterminator service will protect you from the high cost of repairing or replacing your house but think again and make sure you check your contract. Most termite protection companies will only cover the costs of some of the repairs from termite damage and none of them will cover the replacement value. There are literally hundreds of law suits every year in Florida brought against exterminators by homeowners.
